If you're an HR manager or office admin reading this, you're ahead of the curve. Here's everything you need to know to plan a session your team will genuinely enjoy.
Why Companies Do This
The short answer: it works, it's visible, and employees remember it.
A 60-minute yoga session costs less than a team lunch. But unlike lunch, it produces a measurable physical and psychological effect — reduced cortisol, improved mood, better focus for the rest of the day. And it signals something important from leadership: we care about how you feel, not just what you produce.
For IT companies specifically — where back pain, eye strain, and burnout are endemic — Yoga Day is increasingly being treated as a serious wellness investment rather than a box-ticking exercise.
Onsite vs Online — Which Is Right for Your Team?
Most Bangalore companies prefer onsite. There's something about a shared physical experience — colleagues on mats next to each other, laughing through their first Warrior Pose — that a Zoom session can't replicate.
Choose onsite if:
- Your team is largely in-office on June 21
- You have a usable open space (terrace, lawn, large conference room, cleared floor)
- Team size is 20–100 people
Choose online if:
- Your team is distributed or hybrid
- You want to include remote employees equally
- Logistics of a physical setup feel complicated
Zuga offers both. Our instructors travel to any location across Bangalore for onsite sessions. Check our Online Group Classes for more information.
What Space Do You Actually Need?
This is the most common question we get. The answer is simpler than most HR teams expect.
Each participant needs roughly a 2m × 1m space — enough to lie down with arms extended. A standard conference room that fits 20 people for a meeting will comfortably fit 12–15 yoga participants. A cleared open-plan floor, terrace, or lawn works even better.
You don't need special flooring. Most participants bring their own mat or use towels. We can advise on this during the booking call.
What to Tell Employees Beforehand
Keep it simple. Employees need to know three things:
- Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing — or bring a change of clothes
- Avoid eating a heavy meal in the 2 hours before the session
- No prior yoga experience needed — the session is designed for all levels
That's it. We handle everything else.
How Long Is the Session?
Our standard corporate Yoga Day session is 60 minutes. This typically breaks down as:
- 10 minutes: gentle warm-up and breath awareness
- 35 minutes: asana sequence (adapted to all levels)
- 10 minutes: Pranayama breathwork
- 5 minutes: Savasana (guided relaxation)
Employees leave feeling noticeably different. Not tired — energised and calm simultaneously.
How to Book
We have 4 onsite slots available across June 21 — morning through evening. Slots are allocated first-come, first-served.
Pricing is simple: ₹5,000 base + ₹100 per head. So a team of 30 costs ₹8,000 total. Early bird bookings made before June 7 receive a ₹1,000 discount. View our pricing for more details.
Book Early — Slots Go Fast
Last year, most quality yoga instructors in Bangalore were fully booked for June 21 by the end of May. This year is likely to be the same.
If you're planning a session for your team, the best time to confirm is now — while you have choice of timeslot and can communicate the plan to your employees in advance. We also offer Personal Training and specialized programs like PCOD Yoga for those looking for individual wellness goals.
